Travel Journal: Disneyland Park
We all decided to take a plane trip all the way to Disneyland in Anaheim, CA on Saturday for a day of pure fun! Now, for those of you who are superstitious, you might realize that 777 are the 3 lucky numbers, right? Well, to tell you the truth, I'm not really superstitious. I think the only superstition I believe in is the 777 one. Nothing else! Anyways, we chose to go on that day to see what surprises awaits us for the day! Anyhoo, we arrived at the park and everything was going alright until we nearly forgot our tickets for the second time!!!
Our dad got mad at us for being inresponsible. We all began to get mad at each other and I was thinking in my head "Oh no! This day is going turn out bad!" Everytime I go to Disney, I want to have a great time! Not a bad time! But since this was happening, it seemed as if my day was going to come out bad. We stopped our complaining and got on the tram to go to Disneyland.
The tram dropped us off at the entrance of both theme parks. Since dad went to get the tickets, we had our tickets ready and we headed to the entrance of the park! Yay! I gave my admission ticket to a very nice woman to scan it. I love the "sound effect" that is used after your ticket gets scanned! It sounds so magical! Hehe. ;D Dad decided to take a picture of us infront of Main Street U.S.A. Next, we took a picture with Alice! After that, we headed to Tomorrowland for Space Mountain!!!
Let's rock 'n roll dudes!!! The waiting line for Space Mountain wasn't that much unlike last year. This year it was about 20 minutes long which wasn't too bad. We all entered the queue line for Space Mountain so we wouldn't waste anytime later on. I really like the music they got in the waiting line at Space Mountain because it sounds futuristic. Sort of like pop/techno kind if you know what I mean. Then, we went deeper into the building of Space which was very futuristic and nice because the colors and the images of space were great. I also love how they did that safety video! Great job imagineers! ;D Anyways, we had some people infront of us going here and there until we got to the main part of the ride. But as we were following them, they made a slight error. Instead of making a turn to the right, the four people that were infront of us made a turn on the left!!
We also nearly made a turn to the left until we saw the group turn back quickly before they were going to lose their spots!
It was funny. The reason why you had to turn to right was because that turn takes you all the way to the ride, but if you made a left turn, that turn takes you to the exit of the ride. So if you are a big fan of Space Mountain like I am, then you wouldn't make that left turn.
Anyways, we continued to walk and we got to the main part of the ride. I really love the space craft that is hanging there since it looks futuristic and beyond our time! My sister chose to go with me while our parents chose to go together on the ride. When we were ready for our rocket, my sis and I noticed that our parents and us were going to get separated because of the number of people that were infront of us. I told mom and dad that we're going to be separated for a while which was awkward because we never get separated in a ride. But dad told us to wait for them at the exit. We easily got used to the separation and I saw that our rocket was coming to get us. The small "doors" infront of us opened and we boarded the rocket for the space adventure.
I set down my stuff and looked inside to see if everything was in there. I pulled on my lap bar for safety and got ready for the mission. The rocket moved forward and stopped for the Disney cast members to make sure we all had our lap bar on. Safety counts on Space Mountain you guys! After the inspection was done, the rocket began to move forward and the music in the ride began. We went uphill through this large beautiful, red tunnel. Next, we entered a tunnel that had blue and white colors going on and off. That tunnel is very similar (not identical, though) to the Space Mountain they got in the Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World. Anyhoo, we went uphill again through another red tunnel only much bigger this time. Up ahead, all of us saw a blackhole fading away as we got closer to space.
Finally, the blackhole disappeared and we began to see the projection of the stars all around us which is a very nice effect. Then, we went uphill one more time while we were hearing the countdown for blast off. I love this part because you get to see an asteroid and several shooting stars floating through space! Suddenly, the ride begins to go fast doing these crazy curves and sudden drops!
;D Oh yeah, the feeling of the adrenaline rush! So I was in my seat screaming throughout the entire ride! There also came a part where I had my arms up during the ride and I saw the blackhole as if it was going to touch my hand! Yeah!!!
It was really upclose, but when I saw that coming, I quickly put down my arms to avoid it. But altough it seemed as if that blackhole was close, I think it wasn't. I bet it's just an illusion. Anyways, after that happened, I raised my arms again screaming through space and finally, we all entered this tunnel that had colorful lights flashing all over you! Also, as the lights were flashing, a large flash went off taking a picture of us! Wohoo! Then, we all returned safely to the space station area.
My sister and I waited for our parents at the exit area. We went to go see how the pictures of Space Mountain came out which weren't too bad. Next, we decided to check on the new attraction, Finding Nemo: Submarine Voyage. Unfortunately, when we saw the line, it was sooo full that we chose not to go on it! Yeah! The line kept going on like forever! So we chose to go on the Matterhorn since it was next to it. Afterwards, we headed to Star Tours for a flight to Endor! Okay, sort of. We waited for about 10 min. in there and we were getting a little impatient because RX-24 didn't show up! But finally, the funny robot came onto the screen and we were ready for the flight! Afterwards, we headed for the temple of the Forbidden Eye at the Indiana Jones Adventure! When we got to the waiting line, the unexpected happened. The sound of a woman came to the speaker and she began to tell us that Indy was going through some technical problems and that it was going to be closed!
Oh no! I didn't want the attraction to close down because I'm nothing without it! I'm not saying that it's my favorite ride, but it's "one" of my favorite rides! I got disappointed because we never miss out on Indiana Jones when we go to Disneyland! Anyways, we decided to skip the ride and take a small boat ride at Pirates of the Caribbean! Boy, I sure love that ride! I love the restaurant that is inside there because the food seems delicious and the laterns blend in with the whole dark scenery. You also get to relax! Ha! Once we finished our boat trip, we all headed for a knuckle water ride at Splash Mountain! I can't believe we got soaked! AAAHHH!!! I'm not sure if I'm going nuts, but I believe that they added more wetness to Splash this year than last year! Oh yeah! Last year I didn't get too much wet but this year, my pants got wet!
AAAHHH!!!!
I got my pants wet on the final drop! Yep! The big one! I couldn't believe after the drop when the water soaked my pants because I didn't have any extra clothes! Uh-oh!
But the soaking wasn't that bad so I didn't mind walking like that when the ride was over. Although I did thought that to myself, I still hoped that nobody will think that I did "number one" on my pants! Hehe. ;D On the other hand, my sis got totally soaked because she was in the front! Haha! But we had a good time.
Later that afternoon, we went to pay our "spooky" friends a little visit at the Haunted Mansion! The interesting and weird thing that I saw there was when I was with my sister in the doombuggy and we saw a cast member sort of ummm... well, he had his head hanging down. He look as if he was beheaded! It's sort of hard to explain but you get the picture, right? Anyways, after that attraction, we went to Pirates Lair to see the new features it had. We entered Dead Man's Grotto and I was surprised to see that the caverns were still small! AAAHHH! I thought they were bigger. Boy, they sure look bigger on Youtube videos! Hehe. It was still okay because it had more things to it this time than last time.
